Is horse milk halal or haram?

Horse milk is considered halal within Islamic dietary laws. The Quran or Hadith does not explicitly restrict its consumption. Since horses are considered clean animals, their milk can be consumed.

Although horse milk is permitted, it’s not a traditional nutrition in the Muslim diet. This is primarily because of long-standing cultural practices and views on purity. Such traditions and religious beliefs significantly mold dietary preferences, leading to horse milk’s limited consumption in countries with a significant Muslim population.

Review which materials the capsule is made of when using horse milk in capsules. Capsules made of bovine gelatine are considered halal if the gelatine is sourced from a cow that was slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines. HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose) capsules, which are starch-based and vegetarian, are naturally free from animal derivatives and are therefore considered halal.
